日本大分地处日本西南部九州地区大分县沿海地带，面积501平方公里，人口约47万。新日铁、佳能、东芝、昭和电工等著名企业均在此设有工厂，温泉等旅游资源享誉海外，是闻名于世的“一村一品”运动发祥地。大分拥有国际港口，是日本政府指定的新兴产业城市。

      日本大分市是武汉最早建立友好城市关系的国际都市。上世纪70年代，新日铁大分制铁所派遣技术人员来武钢指导冷轧钢板生产车间的建设，人员往来频繁。两市以钢为媒于1979年9月正式结为友好城市。半世纪以来，两市在经济、文化、贸易、教育、技术、工业、农业等涉及到社会生产生活的各个领域进行广泛交流，两市人民结下了深厚的友情。在两市友好交往史上，每逢自然灾害、地震、洪水等灾情来临之时，两市总是鼎力互助，共克时艰。在新冠疫情爆发之际，大分不远万里第一个为武汉送来各种医疗物资,知音故里与丰后之城的深厚友情屡获两国外事部门赞誉。在2018年中国国际友好城市大会上，武汉市获得国际友好城市特别贡献奖。

       2006年，为进一步推动两市友好关系，大分市政府于武汉市设立了大分市武汉事务所。事务所成立后，两市友好交流更加务实。两市每年互派留学生，开展企业交流、美术馆互展、音乐节、渡江节、轮椅马拉松、乒乓球、赴日经贸推介、政府代表团互访等友好交流活动。

    Oita is located in the coastal zone of Oita Prefecture, Kyushu Prefecture in southwestern Japan, with an area of 501square kilometers and a population of about 470000. Nippon Railway, Canon, Toshiba, Showa Electric and other famous enterprises have set up factories here, hot springs and other tourism resources are famous overseas, which is the birthplace of the world-famous "One Village, One Product" movement. Oita owns an international port and is a new industrial city designated by the Japanese government.
   

     Oita City is the first international city in Wuhan to establish friendly city relations. In the 1970s, Nippon Steel Oita Iron & Steel sent technical staff to Wuhan to guide the construction of cold-rolled steel production workshop, and the staff exchanged frequently. The two cities formally tied up as a friendship city in September 1979 with steel as the medium. Over the past half century, the two cities have made extensive exchanges in various fields of social production and life, such as economy, culture, trade, education, technology, industry and agriculture, and the people of the two cities have formed a deep friendship. In the history of friendly relations between the two cities, whenever natural disasters, earthquakes, floods and other calamities came, the two cities always supported each other and overcame the difficulties together. In the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, Oita was the first to send various medical supplies to Wuhan from far away, and the deep friendship between the hometown of Zhiyin and the city of Feng Hou has been repeatedly praised by the foreign affairs departments of the two cities. In the 2018 China International Friendship City Conference, Wuhan won the International Friendship City Special Contribution Award.

    In 2006, to further promote the friendship between the two cities, the Oita City Government established the Oita City Wuhan Office in Wuhan. After the establishment of the office, the friendship exchange between the two cities has become more practical. Every year, the two cities send foreign students to each other, and carry out friendly exchange activities such as corporate exchanges, mutual exhibitions of art museums, music festivals, river crossing festivals, wheelchair marathons, table tennis, economic and trade promotion to Japan, and mutual visits of government delegations.

自2006年以来，由大分市政府牵头，武汉市国际交流服务中心有限公司与大分温室协同组合合作开展农业实习生派遣项目，已成为合作17年之久的“老朋友”。就连劳务人员，在政策的允许下，会先后多次前往同一家企业，与雇主也结下了深厚的友谊。这种因政府友好而来的民间友好，是这个项目的亮点。

大分市信息联络部成立后，在大分市政府的推动下，大分市温室协同组合开始来汉招收技能实习生。
